How long do shingle roofs last?

A shingle roof in Missouri lasts approximately 15 to 20 years. The length of time varies greatly based on the quality of the asphalt shingles installation, if your attic is properly ventilated and insulated, the quality of the shingle, and weather extremes. Given the severe weather extremes we experience in this area, we see roofs that need replacing in as little as 10 years and roofs that have lasted 25 years and never leaked.

How do I know if my roof needs replaced?

Unfortunately, most people wait until they have a leaky roof or a sagging roof to have it inspected. We recommend contacting us for an inspection if your roof has streaking or discoloration, excessive granule loss, has experienced roof damage froma a hail or wind storm, or has shingles that are sticking up or blown off.

Aren’t all roofers the same?

New roof installation is not a complex process, but it is easy fora lazy, inexperienced, or dishonest roofing contractor to cut corners to save themselves time and money – and leave you with huge headache a few months later. When you hire CoMo Premium Exteriors we are going to remove the materials down to the decking to inspect and ensure it is rot free. Then we install the necessary protective layers including synthetic felt (instead of cheap tar paper), proper roof to wall flashings, double layered protection at pipe flashings, ice and water barriers at valleys and penetrations, and a number of other “little things” that make a great roof, instead of an average one. Don’t discover the difference after the roof repairs are done.

What kind of roofing guarantee do I get?

We offer a 5 year workmanship warranty on new installation of entire systems (such as your entire roof, entire walls of siding, etc), a 1 year workmanship warranty on repairs, and a 1 year clean-up warranty that ensures you are satisfied with the way we leave your property.

What if Insurance is paying for my roof replacement?

No problem. We work with your homeowner’s insurance adjuster every day and can help you understand the process necessary to ensure the work gets done to the proper standards. We even work directly with your adjuster to identify any work that may be necessary to ensure all local codes are met and your roof installation meets manufacturer installation requirements for your warranty.

Will your company pay for my deductible to get my business?

If a roofing company tells you they will “eat” or “pay for” your deductible if you’ll sign their contract – be worried. Passed in 2011, Missouri Senate Bill 101 https://www.senate.mo.gov/11info/pdf-bill/tat/SB101.pdf made it illegal for a contractor to pay for your deductible. You can be guaranteed that if your roofer is willing to break the law to get you to sign their contract, they are most likely going to do other illegal or immoral things as well. CoMo Premium Exteriors doesn’t play these games. We obey the law, do quality work, and warranty our workmanship so you can rest assured that what you pay for is what you received.
