Can new siding go over my existing siding?
Technically sometimes, but we rarely recommend it. Siding over old siding traps whatever problems already exist: hidden rot, moisture, failing house wrap. A full tear-off lets us inspect and repair the sheathing underneath, install fresh weather barrier, and give your new siding a flat, sound surface. It costs a bit more now and prevents the expensive surprises later.
How long does a siding replacement take?
