James Hardie Elite Preferred Contractor

James Hardie Engineered the Siding. They Trained Us to Install It.

Plenty of contractors will quote you “Hardie.” Elite Preferred status means James Hardie itself has trained our crews, audits our installations, and backs our work with warranty coverage that uncertified installers cannot offer. For Jefferson City homes, from the historic blocks near the Capitol to the newest subdivisions, that difference lasts decades.

Just Had a Storm Roll Through Mid-Missouri?

Whether it was hail, high winds, or a tornado touched down nearby — don’t wait to see if your roof held up. We offer free inspections, and we’ll meet your insurance adjuster on-site to make sure nothing gets missed.

Three Quotes Can All Say “Hardie” and Describe Three Different Projects

Most people land on this page after the research is mostly done. You know Hardie’s reputation. What you are actually deciding now is who installs it, and that decision matters more with this product than almost any other. Fiber cement boards are heavy and exacting; the brand’s warranties and famous longevity assume the manufacturer’s specs were followed on every cut, fastener, and clearance.

Meanwhile, the wall you are replacing has probably been telling you it is time:

  • Masonite siding from the 80s or 90s swelling and crumbling along the bottom edges, a common sight on Jefferson City homes of that era
  • Vinyl that has cracked through one too many hail seasons
  • Wood that wants another expensive repaint you do not want to give it
  • Quotes that say “Hardie” but go silent when you ask about certification or warranty registration
  • The nagging math of investing this much and not being sure the installation will honor it

The Certification Exists So You Don’t Have to Take Anyone’s Word

James Hardie created the Contractor Alliance program precisely because its product lives or dies on installation. Elite Preferred is the top of that program, and it is not a sticker you buy.

“We’d already decided on Hardie. What we couldn’t figure out was which installer would actually put it on the way Hardie intends.”

That is the right question, and it is the one we are built to answer. Elite Preferred status requires factory training, ongoing quality audits, and sustained customer satisfaction standards, all verified by James Hardie itself. Ask us to show you what it involves. Then ask the other bids the same question.

We’ve Spent 15 Years Earning Trust. Here’s the Proof.

Certifications aren’t trophies we hang on the wall. They’re promises from manufacturers that we install their products the right way, every time. And they back those promises with warranties that only certified contractors can offer.

New Hardie Walls, Masonite Rescues, and Everything In Between

Whether you are starting fresh or finally retiring a failing wall, here is how we help.

01

James Hardie Installation & Replacement

Full tear-off and installation to Hardie’s engineering specs: correct blades and dust control, manufacturer fasteners, sealed cut edges, and the clearances the warranty depends on.

02

Masonite & Failing Siding Conversions

Thousands of Jefferson City homes built in the 80s and 90s wear Masonite hardboard that is now swelling, softening, and shedding paint. Hardie fiber cement is its natural successor: a similar look, engineered to never repeat the failure. This is one of our most common local projects.

03

Hardie Repair & Refinishing

Impact damage from debris, a failed caulk joint, or a section harmed during other work: we repair existing Hardie walls and blend the fix so it disappears.

04

Storm-Claim Upgrades

When insurance is already replacing storm-damaged siding, upgrading to Hardie often costs far less than homeowners expect. We document the claim and price the difference transparently.

One Brand, Every Look Your Home Could Want

Hardie is a product family, not a single board. Here is what we install and where each piece shines.

HardiePlank Lap Siding

The flagship: horizontal lap boards with authentic wood-grain or smooth finishes. The profile most Jefferson City homes wear, in the material that keeps it straight for decades.

HardiePanel Vertical Siding

Vertical panels for board-and-batten and modern looks, on whole facades or as striking accents. Crisp lines that cement holds and weather cannot soften.

HardieShingle Siding

The charm of cedar shingles on gables, dormers, and accent walls, without cedar’s maintenance schedule or pest appeal.

HardieTrim & Soffit

Trim, fascia, and soffit from the same fiber cement family, so the edges of your walls are as rot-proof and pest-proof as the walls themselves.

ColorPlus Technology

Factory-applied, baked-on color that resists fading far better than field paint, in a curated palette suited to everything from historic Jefferson City facades to new builds. We will show you the options against your home.

New to Fiber Cement?

If you are still weighing the material itself, our fiber cement page covers what it is made of, what it resists, and how it compares.

2

3

Installation

Elite Preferred crews working to Hardie’s specs: proper cutting equipment with dust control, correct fasteners and clearances, sealed edges, daily cleanup. Most full projects finish within one to two weeks once materials arrive.

4

Warranty & Follow-Up

We make sure your manufacturer warranty is properly set up, and our 5-Year Craftsmanship Warranty covers the installation itself.

Straight Answers About James Hardie in Jefferson City

It is the top tier of James Hardie’s Contractor Alliance program. Holding it requires factory training on Hardie’s installation specifications, ongoing quality audits of completed work, and sustained customer satisfaction standards, all verified by James Hardie rather than self-declared. The practical difference for you is installation to spec and eligibility for warranty coverage that uncertified installers cannot offer.

Hardie’s substrate and finish warranties are among the strongest in siding, and certified installation is what keeps them fully intact. Because terms vary by product line and finish, we walk through the current warranty documents with you during your consultation rather than quoting numbers that may have changed, and we make sure your coverage is properly registered when the job is done.

Masonite is compressed hardboard, common on homes built from the late 70s through the 90s. Telltale signs: swelling or mushy bottom edges of boards, a waffle or embossed pattern on the back of a loose piece, paint that bubbles low on the walls, and dark stains spreading from nail heads. It fails by absorbing water, which Hardie’s fiber cement was specifically engineered not to do, making it the standard replacement path. We will identify it for certain during a free inspection.

As a working range, Hardie typically installs at roughly $8 to $12 per square foot, sitting above vinyl and in line with other premium claddings. Trim scope, stories, and tear-off conditions move the number, so treat that as orientation.

If you plan to stay in your home, usually yes: the hail resistance, fire resistance, color retention, and lifespan tend to make Hardie cheaper per year of service even at a higher upfront price, and it is a recognized curb-appeal asset at resale. If you plan to move within a few years, vinyl’s math can win.

Both are premium upgrades over natural wood. LP engineered wood is lighter and slightly more impact resistant; Hardie is non-combustible and completely indifferent to insects and rot. Costs land in a similar range, so it usually comes down to your priorities.

ColorPlus is Hardie’s factory finish: color applied and baked on in controlled conditions, which resists fading and chipping far better than field-applied paint. Primed boards cost less upfront and let you paint any color you want, on a repaint schedule. Most of our Jefferson City clients choose ColorPlus for the longevity; we will show you both against your home.

Very little: a rinse with a garden hose once or twice a year, and a quick annual check of caulk joints around windows and trim. No scraping, no staining, no pest worries.

Most full re-sides finish within one to two weeks of materials arriving, depending on home size, stories, trim scope, and what we find under the old siding. Fiber cement installs more slowly than vinyl because the boards are heavier and the specs are stricter, and that care is exactly what you are paying for. You get a specific timeline during your consultation.
